This is a short post that will hopefully serve two purposes in quick order here at Bounces.
Firstly, I have the answer to a question raised in a previous post from last week, about whether or not the WTA would adjust its Weeks at No. 1 statistic to account for the 390 ranking points Iga Swiatek forfeited due to her positive test in Cincinnati.
The answer from the WTA is: No. Swiatek will not forfeit any weeks at No. 1, despite the fact that without her now-voided Cincinnati points she would have spent one fewer week at No. 1; the forfeiture of the 390 points will only be applied to Swiatek’s ranking from the time of the announcement of her penalty onward. This deduction actually wasn’t reflected in the WTA’s rankings published this past Monday, with Swiatek’s total staying fixed at 8,370…so I have also now asked the WTA about that. Stay tuned some more, I guess.
Secondly, and hopefully more excitingly: because I enjoy being on both sides of the asking questions equation, I am opening my own mailbox here to answer any and all questions or queries you the readers have of me, on any tennis topic (or beyond) that you’d like for me to answer.
You can message me using the Substack button below, or by sending me an email at benrothenberg1+bounces@gmail.com .
I’ll answer all the questions I receive from paid subscribers (of whom there are now hundreds, for which I’m delighted and humbled and grateful), and then also a smattering of the questions I get from free subscribers.
So if you want to guarantee a reply to your burning question, you can subscribe here:
Thanks for reading, and excited to see what y’all come up with!

The button to message with a question doesn’t seem to work….
I have a very random question though.
I was curious what Terence Atmane would be wearing after he made an announcement on his Instagram stories that Asics “fired” him…
He’s been wearing the Draper USO Nike kit - but I noticed he has a patch (not sewn on, but one of his sponsors logos on the sleeve) - I know Nike is very strict about this….I’m assuming they haven’t sponsored him and he’s purchased this gear himself. In that case are you free to add your sponsor logos on ? And would this piss off Nike ?
What would your ideal schedule look like for the ATP tour?
